CD Mag stuck in CD player
>I have a 96 explorer with
>a factory issued 6 CD
>player. The magazine is
>stuck inside the CD player
>and won't come out, any
>ideas how to get it
>out without causing damage?
To eject the 6 pack cartrige, get a pretty sturdy piece of card board, not too thick (something like the back of a note book) and cut it about 2 to 3 inches wide and 6-8 inches long. and slide it under the bottom of the cartrige, pushing downward.
there is a trigger that releases the cartridge.
this should work even if there is no power to the unit. good luck

CD Mag stuck in CD player
My cartridge was stuck, I did a search on Google, and found this page. This technique of using something slim to trigger the release works great. I used a thin metal ruler that I had, but as the release is a small plastic piece, cardboard would have been fine. The release is roughly in the middle of the cartridge, on the bottom (or nearer to the driver) of the cartridge.
Regarding the reset button mentioned below, I never saw it and also don't know if that would have worked, since my cartridge was mechanically stuck and needed to have the cartridge manually triggered.
Thanks a TON for the anonymous help from over one year ago!!!
