Nothing to say about your VIN info, looks pretty standard. What are people supposed to
comment on?

Try eBay for an owner's manual, or maybe one of those places that sells automotive books,
e.g.
Lloyds Auto Liturature available for 1985, Fordtruck, Owners Manual

F15 = F150 2WD Regular Cab Pickup.

Y = 4.9L (300 1-6) EFI

A32824 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly (specific serial number).

New original FoMoCo owners, shop manuals, vacuum & wiring diagrams and etc: helminc.com

Used owners, shop manuals, sales brochures and etc: faxonautolit.com

Wheels-Axles-Wheelbase...what 272.0 refers to, I haven't a clue as it doesn't make any sense.

If you post the other codes from the Certification Label, I can decode all of it.

The wheelbase is way off.His truck should have a 133" wheelbase,not 272.That's like the wheelbase of an F700 Uhaul truck.

What are you saying Fordzilla80?

If it's what was originally put on the truck... isn't that right?

No...It's CACA del TORO. The 272.0 jazz doesn't refer to anything!

Whoever decoded this jazz for you doesn't know scheiss from shinola. If it's from the FTE VIN decoder, I'm not a bit surprised, the damn thing ain't worth two cents.

As I typed in Post #4: If you wanna know what the Wheels, Wheelbase, Axles, and etc are...post all the codes from the Certification Label, and I'll decode ALL of it.

Since 11/2006, I've decoded well over 700 VIN's, Certification Labels, Warranty & Rating Plates for FTE members. I've decoded three...so far, today.

Wicked,see the WB on the bottom left corner?That's your wheelbase,133".Single Cab Longbed trucks like yours and mine all have that same wheelbase.It's the distance between the front wheels and the rear wheels.

Bill,I'm glad to see you're feeling better and posting in other sections besides the 60's.Thanks again for all your info.I think it was you who helped me decode my DSO and find out where my truck was ordered.Thanks again man,it's greatly appreciated.

Uh huh...you see anything on the Certification Label you just posted inre to 272.0? I did this jazz everyday for 35 years (1962/97), haven't a clue what 272.0 is.

The picture is kinda blurry, especially for me...considering my eyes are over 65 years old.

2E = Light Canyon Red

22 = Charlotte NC Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

133" wheelbase

F155 = F150 2WD with a 133" wheelbase and GVWR of 6100 lbs.

DD4: DD = Red Knit and Vinyl Upholstery / 4 = Styleside Pickup

W = C5 Cruise-O-Matic

18 = Ford Rear Axle / 3.08-1 / non Limited Slip / 3750 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

I can't tell if the spring codes are B or 8 (front) / D or O (rear).

btw: The 2010 F100 SuperNationals Truck Show & Swap Meet is being held in Pigeon Forge TN May 13-15.

I believe the spring codes say B and D.

Thanks Bill.

133" wheelbase sounds better, yeah..

Maybe the 272.0 is some sort of code or other measurement units, not the standard
wheelbase measured in inches we're all used to. Could have also been an error on
the part of Ford's decoder (although I'd tend to trust it over third party variants). I see
people here complain about their Ford-supplied Build Sheets, too, but I suspect they're
just misinterpreting things.

In any event, the label seems to be correct.
