When I replaced the bezel on my '65 in 1982 with a new original, I seem to recall it had the argent paint under that lip...but maybe I'm mistaken.
I sold the truck 11/2009 to a fellow in Sweden, so I can't go look at it.
Was this fellow going to put it in some sort of museam?
One of our customers sold a '65 GT350H that we redid to somebody over there to be in a museam. Dude paid high dollars for that Shelby.

I dunno what he's gonna do with it. He's bought 9 vehicles from me over the years and it's my understanding he owns 1000's.
The surfaces facing inward to the speedo and fuel and temp gauges is indeed as Bill described it. Ive got umpteen of these clusters and everyone thats worn in these areas is plain old bare plastic under it...
The bezel on my 65 was bought new in 1983 at the Ford dealer with the argent on the inside lip next to the lens. I just taped off the trim rings on the lens and painted them .At that time the lens was no longer available from Ford
The lens and bezel are reproduced as a set. I've seen them in the Dennis Carpenter 57-66 truck catalog for $150. As stated earlier, no argent paint treatment on the repops.noting a little taping and spraying wont fix...

Yeah, I saw them in the DC catalog as well. I'm kinda hoping to refurb/refinish my original as others have said the DC version just doesn't have "the look". I guess worst case scenario is to buy the DC version, pull the pieces I want from it, and sell just the bezel on EBAY for $60-80.
I guess I can also just need to keep an eye open on EBAY (and other places) for an old gauge cluster with a decent lense.
Have not heard from Quality Mustang so assume no longer in business. Just purchased a CC cluster off ebay and interested in having it restored. If anyone has their's done would appreciate input, pic's if possible. If not pleased with results and prefer not posting opinion in thread feel free emailing. Thanks
I'm hoping NumberDummy knows, cause he seems to know a lot about F100 parts. I've got a 1965 f100 custom cab short bed. I'd like to find original amp and oil temp gauges with the silver bezels. I've got aftermarket gauges now with black bezels and the rest of the dash cluster is original, so I'd like to restore all the gauges to original if possible, or reproduction if they're available.
Anyone know where to find original or repro amp and oil gauges with silver bezels for the 1965 F100?

Welcome to FTE
The bezels come with the gauges, no one repro's them. NOS or used are the only alternatives.
When these gauges are present, there is a separate wiring harness for them that plugs into the dash harness. How are the aftermarket gauges wired?
The Custom Cab plastic chrome sweep speedo instrument cluster bezel (1965 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD) is repro'd, but it does not come with holes for the oil/amp gauges which were an extra cost option.
When the oil gauge is present, there's a fitting that threads into the block that both the oil warning lamp switch and the oil pressure switch thread into.
"Squire" Don (camperspecial65) most likely has these gauges used.
C5TZ-9273-A .. Oil Pressure Gauge / Obsolete / 2 available NOS
C5TZ-10850-A .. Ammeter Gauge / Obsolete / Edit: No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
If you want the sources, post your email address. If I list the sources here, you can bet the farm that someone else will snag them.
Thanks for the welcome ND. My email is andy90069@aol.com. As for how the oil and ammeter gauges are wired, the truck came with aftermarket gauges in the dash when I bought it, so not sure how they wired them. They're mounted in the plastic chrome sweep speedo instrument cluster bezel, so maybe the factory installed the originals and the previous owner replaced them with aftermarket.
I'm looking to find gauges and the round silver bezels. Also would love to install the emergency flasher kit for safety. I think LMC carries those.
I have an ammeter, but the bezel shows its age. I removed it and replaced with a voltmeter because amp meters are a bit dubious when running more modern wiring such as an electric fan and high output alternators which exceed the capacity of the gauge (fire hazard).
