I have three clusters and in two of them, the guage needles vibrate from road vibrations. The fuel and temp guages seem to be the worst. Is there any way to fix this? I would just swap the two that don't vibrate into the best cluster, but the backgrounds of those guages themselves are pretty faded, so I'd like to use the nicer ones if possible. Any ideas?
I've had guages vibrate so bad that they "disapeared" but it was caused by bad U-joints. I wasn't aware a rough road could cause it. Could an uneven road cause the joints to change angle and cause the vibration? Just a guess..
I guess now I better say it's on my 79 F-150. I put this in 73-79 because it was specific to 73-79 guages.
Anyway, it's not an electrical problem. With the truck sitting still, they won't, but I can smack the dash and they will vibrate. Even with the key off. It only happens on rougher roads or on the highway at speeds where a driveline vibration I do have shows up.
