tire noise

so when i am going down the road i get a loud whum whum whum noise from my tires, it gets faster and slower with speed, is it a bearing or a broken belt what else could it be?

Shocks could be worn out. Tires could be cupping.

Ill ceck tires for cupping tomorrow, and see if i can check shocks too and let you know.

Had that similar noise with my factory General tires.. caused by cupping..Switched to Michelins a couple of years ago.. no problem since..

so far

so far no noticeable cupping, would wheel bearings or ball joints be the cause of cupping, which is the most likely culprit?

I think bad shocks would be the first cause of cupping. Iam not to sure wheel bearings or ball joints would cause it.

try to rotate the tires....when i do i get whole new sound and handling...

Whats the stuff they use in Classs 8 trucks to balance tires. Its a silica or something?
