Hey fellas.....does your Escape seem to generate alot of tire noise when on the highways? When I got the truck in the spring, it had winter tires on it and the noise was brutal...I've since gone to summer tires, the noise is less but still noticable. What brand of tires do you recommend that would minimize this...what's everyone running on their truck?
When you buy a SUV, you get SUV-type tires. They are all noisy. Specially on concrete road surfaces.
There are many touring tires on the market that are quiet, but you don't get that rugged and aggressive look.
The thing about escapes is you have to rotate REGULARLY... If you wait 6000 miles you waited too long.
People tend to put "knobby" tires on these small suv's (and by knobby I don't mean mud tires, I mean AT tires) but they are so light the tread blocks just slap the pavement and get them choppy, especially on the non-drive axle. Get less agressive tires if you don't go off road, and rotate regularly.
