I just bought a 1995 Ford 150 4x4. It has Goodyear 31x10.50x15. The tires make alot of noise on the road. So I'm going to get a diffrent tire, and would like to know, what is a good tire for the road, but not the noise.
I agree about keeping the 31 10.50 size. I have BFG AT in that size and they don't make much noise. I would look for Michelin LTX MS or similar tires. Maybe the BFG Long Trail.
Maybe your tires are older and are turning hard. Which Goodyears are they? I think going with a less agressive tread will be your best bet.
my dads king ranch has the wrangle dura tracs and they are terrible tires. The wear terribly. They cup. And are absolutely terrible in any off road condition.
I would suggest any mild all-terrain. the BFG A/T's although hated by much of the off-road community, i think they are good all around tires. Michelin LTX are a much more of an on road tire, but still capable off road. Cooper discover atr are a very good all around tire, perform great on ice and in snow, as well as light mud, and sand. and they wear nicely as well.
If they are cupped, that could be from worn out shocks. It could also be from the alignment being out or worn out ball joints. I would check all of these including the tie rod ends etc. I'd also check the axle pivot and radius arm bushings.
Rotating the tires would not be related to this issue.
