Rubber roofs are usually guaranteed for 12-15 years and usually lasts a bit longer. As noted the rubber gets chalky, which is supposed to do, but cleans up readily.

I am leaving for Nebraska next week for 2 months of work. I decided that because I already have a fifth wheel I might as well live in it. I spent 4 months out there in 08 and spent a lot of money in a hotel. Time will tell if it is worth it.

Sometimes the only way to know something is to try it. You can always take your fiver to a motel, if it doesn't suit you.
Just reading through the pages again, and wanted to add something else I had yet to think of.
My advice would be to find something older. Especially if you are living in it, just for a job site situation. Chances are, you will find things you dont like about it and things you would change and you can use that knowledge to upgrade to a newer nicer one in a couple years.
Older ones, however, will generally outdated colors for curtains and carpets. These can be easily changed, if desired.
I know I mentioned in an earlier post of the changes we made to update our curtains and valances, as well as the new carpet that was already in our (1992) rig when we bought it. THose picturs as promised....
I took down the valances and the fiancee and her mother re-did them in camo fabric bought locally. (Real Tree All-Purpose, the best of course ). We then attempted to dye the curtain fabric, with little success. So we bought some (cheaper) curtains to match the camo. Just some ideas...
Don't know much about them, but have seen plenty of them in the campgrounds. Very nice looking rigs. Don't think the company has been around too long so the camper is probably not too old.
That is a lot of trailer, but it will be worth it and should last you a long time. Like Dan said, there aren't but a few makers and a lot of names. Wouldn't surprise me if somewhere, under a cabinet or behind a door, it says Fleetwood..
