Side window mounting

Do the side mirrors sit exactly center in the base bracket or off center. I will be installing side mirrors tomorrow. I had to adjust my vent windows in the frames to ensure good seal with outer frame.

Did a bunch of little projects today, got emerg cable remounted, put some SS trim on hood; painted side mirror base brackets, etc

Mounted hood release assembly in hood front, but the release doesn't s seem to fit properly in the handle. I'll take pics tomorrw to ensure I have it right.

Later

Tom

Hi Tip!

I'm not sure I understand the question?????? But it's probably just me.

Let me at least bump this back up for you.

window fitment

Thanks Julie;

I think I answered my own question, the window lift channel is 19 1/8" long whle the glass is 20 5/8" long. I had one old window that I measured off of and it looks like the glass is centered in the lift channel.

Now; what is the tab or piece attached to the channel, what is its' function ?

Tom

Lift channel end tab

So......... anybody have even a guess as to what the functon is of the piece that is riveted to the side window lift channel ?

My guess is some sort of guide so keep the window in the rear window guide bracket ?

Old F1 are you out there?

Ray;

Can you put some clothes on sometime and check to see if your side window lift channels look anything like these ? I'm not sure of the orientation of the tab, is it front or back ?

Thanks

Take your time; don't want you to offend the neighbours. Hey can you check to see how thick the felt washers are; also I'm going to have to fab something up.

I'm on the road to work today, talke to you soon. What are you up to on your truck these days.

Felt washers, …………………what felt washers?
Not much, tractor had a rear flat tire (ugly job), son wanted some mag wheels put on his ice cream truck, ……………….I’m just a happy pig rolling in the dirt.

Are you thinking about going to Red Deer swap meet, I might be getting a day pardon for a trip!

Tab goes to the front.

Thanks !

What purpose does this tab have ? Thought the manual says felt washers go against glass, before retainer clips. I'll check manual again. I won't get to the truck for another week.

When is the Red Deer meet ?

I work until the 28th of April; home that evening.

From what I could see, it looks like it slides up the window channel along with the glass kind of like a stabilizing guide feature.

Red Deer is Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1……..I think!

I just put a window in the passenger side of my truck and I didn't see any felt washers on either door. It went in real easy after I figured it out. lol

Thanks for the input

I may use some sort of washer between the glass and retainer, would make for a smoother operation.
