po782 code on a 4r100

Took my truck toa buddy got the P01782 code. Took my truck to a buddy got the P01782 code. I bought a soloniod pack and installed it, didnt work. any other suggestions?

I have another tranny out of a parts truck, its 2wd. So at worst case I will have its guts put in my 4wd case

I don't think the 2wd tranny will mate to the transfer case. I know nothing about transmissions, thats why I had Brian at BTS build mine for me.

A wiring problem to the solenoid will also cause this code.

The cases are identical. If you build a trans with a 4x4 shaft and extension housing the transfer case bolts up fine.

Ok, I see in his post he meant to say guts, not (guys).

I havent tried it yet but from what one mechnic told me that I can unplug the tranny and it should go to 4th gear in safe mode. at least that will tell me if its burned up or not

Ya, I just dont know where to start looking for the wiring issue. when I extended the truck for the 2 doors I didnt touch the wiring. Matter of a fact the tail light woiring is stock. it reached.. Unless a burr jumped 2 feer under there and burned throu the harness it should be good.

I should have not left this part out. I bought a burned 01 superduty (cruise control fire). I used it to make my 6-door. While dismantaling it I found it had a chip on the computer. I took mine out and put that one in. My tranny guage didnt work and my check engine light was one. I ran it down the road probably puytting 40 miles on it. thats when I lost drive and OD. I went home switched back to my computer and it didnt work. I have taken every plug to the firewall apart and checked them all. I have had the codes cleared by a ford mechanin. still nothing. I wonder if I imprinted a glich onto my system some how??
