Need help just purchased problematic excursion

a couple weeks ago i bought my wife 2000 ford excursion 7.3. A couple days after bringing it home she was driving down the road engine stalled out, she started it right back up no problems. Well i took a look at it that night noticed it had a 1 flash followed by a six flash. So i took it to the stealer to have them diagnose the problem thinking maybe the light had something to do with it. They call me two days later and tell me that they pulled code and p0541 p0605 and p1670 and that i needed to replace the pcm and air intake heater before they could go any further for 1600.00. Feeling uneasy about throwing 1600.00 at it without a definite answer so i opted to do some more investigating myself. they also recommended the fuel filter be replaced so i replaced that. Wanting a second opinion i took the ex to my buddies house he has an AE scan tool for the powerstroke pulled all codes found C1233 C1234 B1352 B2141 u1262-swcp-j1850 and also the p0605. Forgot to mention the stealer performed the recall on the cps at that time as well. He hooked up his powerstroke up and he had the p0605 on his truck and has never had any problems with it stalling out. So we thought that something else was causing this code. Well the other day the wife took it out she said it ran real rough for about 15 miles with little power and then it got better not 100 percent power but running way better so the next day i drove it to work ran great the whole way there on my way home though it started runnin really rough and just died i could not get it to restart and stay running very rough idle and white smoke. so i towed it home had my biuddy come over and pulled some more codes on it the codes this time are as follows U1147 B1352 p1670 p1000 p1260 p0603 b2141 u1262 so for ****s and grins we pulled the pcm and was gopnna swap it with my truck if it were the same well low and behold we found a bullydog chip plugged into the back of the pcm removed the chip reinstalled pcm tried restarting it finally started ran rough at first maybe due to the amount of diesel fuel in the cylinder from previous attempts to start. no more theft light went in and cleared all the codes drove it a couple miles retest the only code that showed was the p1000 thinking woohoo finally got it figured out i sent my wife up to the atm to throw a few dollars my buddies way for helping me with it she comes back and says its doing it again so we go back out and scan it again and get the p0541 code along with cps intermitant error low a
how can the cps be malfunctioning its only two weeks old. SO before i throw any more money at this thing i figured i would get others opinions on this so any help would be much appreciated

also when we could not get it started we checked the icp pressure and it climbed ovr 2000 psi read somewhere that that would indicate electrical issue. took these nujmbers when we got it running Rpm 850 Icp volts 1.25 Icp psi between 750- 800 icp duty cycle 17.58 volume of fuel desired was 18.5 vehicle refrence voltage was 4.95 turbine speed sensor rpm was 220

Welcome to FTE Jeff.

First things first, you need to repost your thread in the 7.3L forum. That's the diesel specific forum and the guys there will be able to diagnose every problem you have, since it's strictly a diesel related problem.

This Excursion forum is great, but since the Ex came with 4 different engines, the engine specific questions are best asked in the correct engine forum.

Which CPS code is it throwing?

I had a intermidant miss in my 2000 7.3. Would ocassionally stumble going down highway and sme times rough idle. I was getting a loss of signal with the idm code. I blew a power steering hose one day and pulled the IDM relay to prime the system after replacing the hose. When I put the relay back in truck would not start. Played with the relay and truck fired. While it was running I put the cover back on the relay box and truck died. The contacts that the IDM relay pluged into was the problem all along. Wound up tightening up the contacts and have never had another stumble again amd idle has been smooth.
