Finally found an engine for the my 1983 bronco! I got it with a dead 300 I6 and 4spd and I just bought tonight an 89 F-250 4X4 with a 351 and ZF 5 speed, 156000 Km Rusty body and from out of province but spotless engine and runs great. Was used as a plow truck most of it's life. Bringing it home tomorrow.
So to use the ZF and t-case I'm gonna need to swap the clutch goodies over, move the trans mount back, and buy/build new drive shafts right? is the speedo fully electric on the 89?
I see where I was confused, when I looked inside the truck I seen the auto shift indicator section blacked out under the speedo, but it is mechanical. I didn't really pay much attention to the inside of the truck. It has a real bad ball joint on the passenger side (D44HD) and it leaks fuel right before the high pressure pump, steady drip.. But it made it 40Km home! I was surprised by the power it has, it's more fun to drive than my 94 W/E4OD was, it had 400,000km though.
Sold the front tank and pump to recoup $50 on saturday. It's only a $150 truck now
Truck has brand new battery, alternator, starter relay, and O2 sensors.
Been too busy doin yard work to get started tearin it apart yet. i hate spring, theres too much to do.
