taking the block, pistons/connecting rods, and crank out was NOT my idea of an easy job. give me an OBS powerstroke and i will pull the engine, rebuild it, and reinstall and i'm fine with it. pulling the block and then getting into the main case of that old a$$ tractor just straight up sucked! LOL. we just finished fixing up his John Deere A a couple months ago(paint, new tires, new grills, fixed the engine, stickers, etc.) then he got this one. I just can't remember what model it is. i do wanna say it's a 720 though. Did i mention that one of the pistons was rusted to the cylinder of the 720 so we couldn't just pull the block out?? that was a sucky thing too.
Travis the gtg went well here everyone had a great time and the coversation was great. Are you going with Cody to the sled pull?
I do not watch alot of t.v. after work because I spend time outside on the farm.I do make a point to watch this program.
Tonight will be a sad 2hr episode of the passing of Phil Harris.I think he was a great fella.
Man they are murdering us plumbers on wages. I'm guessing that the unions are the way to go. The hvac side though pay is a lot better. Is it the same way around houston?

Not sure about the pay scale on HVAC techs, but the plumbing wages have been lowered around here because of the economy, The guys I had working for me averaged 25 for those with journeymen 18 for tradesmen and 12-14 for good helpers. Union Pays better but make sure they have work. If you make 1000 an hour with no work what good is it? I've known a few that have sat on teh bench for months, they would have been better off taking a 18$ an hour job and made more in a year then the higher pay and no work
I've been seeing journeyman plumbers 14-16 offered. Service techs 20-26. I assume when they say service tech they are refering to hvac. Hell I make more than they offer as a journeyman. I guess either they only give a low ball amount though. I'm not union.. I don't like them, the principle, what they stand for. I've had a lot of oppertunities to join. I wouldn't ever think of paying to learn and going to classes to do what I have been doing for dang near 10yrs. Lol not on a rant
I'm guessing they are lowballing me comming from a smaller market.. Might end up just going to a hvac company.. Got 3yrs before ill qualify for the masters test... Should have taken my journemans test 4yrs ago before they added the new crap.
if your talking about the Llano sled pull... Most likely i will be up there unless something happens where i have to be at work. You goin?
Yea
I was thinking about it but it does not look to good right now as I am playing catch up at work since I took off 7 days. There is some end of the month items I am trying to get finished with. Gonna play gotta pay. lol
