Would that be one of the "tiny" Roosevelt Elk you guys have on the west side?
Or one of the "giant" Rocky Mountain Elk we have on the East side?
No Elk on the place I live on, and the owners lease the Deer hunting rights out on this place for $10,000/Tag.....

Maybe so.......But at least we can reach out and cap one at 300+ yards.
With all the undergrowth you wetsiders have to deal with you need to get "up close and personal" to even find one........

Elk over here like old clear cuts, near water. Thats where you sit and wait in ambush, plenty of 100-200yd shots, undergrowth not a problem.

The last cow I shot was a good 250 yards out into a grassy field about 2 miles from the beach. Dropped it on the spot with my trusty old 30-06

Morning Jack. Eastern Oregon is just fine today. Mid 60's, mostly sunny, just another nice day here.....
