Code P0380 is not documented very well. I think it is indicating the PCM can't see main buss voltage from the GPR.
On the big metal strap you have three small wires that go back to the PCM.
1. One end of the bar monitors left bank current.
2. Center of strap monitors main buss voltage.
3. Other end of strap monitors right bank current.
All three of these wires are protected by (20 ga.) fuse links somewhere in the wire harness from the GPR to the PCM.
WAG, the #2 fuse link is blown. Sorry, I don't know how far up in the wiring harness those links are. I can give you pin numbers on the PCM connector to those wires if you want to try and ohm it out.
Hussler, I just re-read your post here. I follow what you're saying, but how to tell if a fusable link is blown? It looks ok to me, but what do I know?

Ask wife, girl friend or good looking female neighbor for a couple sowing needles. Stick one on each side of the fuse link wire then check with an ohm meter. Or just put one on PCM side of fuse link and with key on check for voltage (GPR) on.
CAUTION: This procedure usually results with holes in fingers and some loss of blood.

Ok boys, I need to revive this thread. I've got a little time lately and spent it working on this problem.
I aquired the Ford procedures for diagnosing this code and I've come up with zip. Everything works, but I still have the code. I'm looking at the PCM.
Before I go there I did find a couple of strange occurances: 1. If you clear the code with the engine running, the light (and code) come back on a minute or so later. 2. After the GPR cycles and shuts off, both activation wires from the PCM (P/O ground and R/W power) show 12 volts to ground. May mean nothing, but I don't know.
I have not checked the monitering circuits at the PCM pins yet. I will do that tomorrow. A visual check and a check of the fusable links says they're ok, but I'll put a meter on the pins and check resistance back to the GPR.
If all thing point to the PCM, does anyone have a good idea what to do with that thing. It's all greek to me, reflash? repair? replace? Beg, borrow or steal?
I checked all the feeds to the PCM today everything is good. I don't know what more to do. If you guys don't come up with some ideas, I'll have to go to the stealership. Don't let it come to that!
