No wonder the U.S. is plagued with violence, everyone wants to carry a gun.
I know this is going to **** some of you off, but think about it.
Unless your hunting, why bother.

yes, because the only reason people get carjacked is because they have a gun in their car. the thing is, people have nothing to fear from a law abiding armed citizen. i'm not worried about my house catching on fire, but i have smoke alarms and home insurance. it's called prepairedness. just because someone has a ccw doesn't mean they are parinoid or looking for trouble.

Dont feel alone man your not the only one that thinks this way.

Im pro gun, and feel the same way you do.

Its been my experience up here in Canada, that punks and pansies carry weapons.

I do know also that Canada and the US are VERY different when it comes to that issue.

Either Galco or Desantis makes some kind of seat holster that hangs in between your legs just off the front of your seat. I don't like them because I'm short and my knees rub all over it. With a Glock 33, I use a Desantis crossdraw with belt loops, holds it really close in and doesn't shift around.

In Texas it just has to be concealed if your in your personal vehicle, so I just toss a sweatshirt over my paddle on the passenger seat when I'm driving. Our gun laws are finally more relaxed, so even with my CHL I have a lot of leeway while driving.

I am ALWAYS hunting... Coyotes, vermin, Terrorists, etc... It would be stupid of me not to carry in my position. Any by the way, Yes, there IS that much violence in the US which requires me to carry all the time. Most major US cities are more dangerous than Baghdad. If everyone carried a gun, a lot fewer crimes would be comitted. Go vote for Obama again if you want to have your second amendment rights taken away...

This thread was about the comfort of riding down the road with your side arm in your holster and then is it legal to place the firearm in door pocket, glove box or console. It has nothing to do with gun control but since it's on the table. It is very interesting that in the States that have stricter gun carry laws, have the most personal attack crime where those States with "Shall Issue" laws have very low crime numbers. Making the argument that more legal guns carried equal less personal attack crimes (robbery, carjacking, home invasion and rape). It is also noted that since some of the former UK counties have banned handguns, auto and semi auto loading rifles and shotguns, certain types of crimes have skyrocketed (rape, home invasion and robbery), the bad guys know you are unarmed because you are a law abiding citizen. Thank you but I will keep my guns at the ready. Selfdefense, I consider a God given right by any means at hand (a Sig works just fine). Jumping off the soap box. Chris

Yeah, I kinda felt like someone would turn this thread into the "Gun Rights" debate.

I'm Pro-Gun All the way,...But I'm not going to try and debate with any Bleeding Heart Liberal,...it is pointless.

That isn't quit what I was thinking, but definately on the right track. I have a friend that rigged an Uncle Tom's cordura holster kind of under the front seat of his Camaro (sorry for cussing). I liked the idea of having my pistol in the same position at all times so I can draw easily and quickly. From what I see on the website, this is really just a bag type of carrier on the front of the seat. I would think it would be awkward trying to draw from it. Also, different sized pistols (smaller ones mostly) might have a tendancy to move around.
anyone try a holster with a strong clip to something under the seat? I was kind of thinking something like that may work.

Just found this http://www.securityprousa.com/vesehocarseh.html Anyone try it?
Not wild about it mounting on the side of the seat... hard to get at and can see it when you open the door.

I just lay my 9mm in the armrest cupholders. BUT each state has differing laws. In Michigan WITH a CPL (concealed pistol license) you can have your loaded firearm anywhere inside your vehicle on or off your person. If stopped by a law officer you must immediately inform them you are licensed and are in posession.

I carry a gun because a policeman is too heavy.

have you tried a different position when in the vehicle? I have a xd 45 and g19 that I carry in about the 3 oclock position but when I get inside i usually move it to a 5 ish or so?

And to the gun liberal, why do you wear your seatbelt? Just in case huh? Same difference. Before you blurt out crap, go get some facts. Go look up crimes and incidents involving concealed carry permit owners and see how much that THERE ISNT. Most CCW people never have a incident much less even commit crimes because we are the law abiding citizens WHO realize a cop isnt going to be there when you need him. What are you going to do in the minutes that it takes for cops to show up after you call 911? Ask the bad guy to wait? Sorry guys. Im touchy about this topic.

Well I figured my post would generate some interesting comments.
I live in Northern Ontario Canada, far away from any large urban center.I am an avid hunter and fisherman. I do have S&W 357 I carry while prospecting minerals. All legal with a special permit.(for personal protection only) It was tough to get the permit as very few are issued by the RCMP.
Anyways I do believe that carrying a conceled weapon, in general, is a little dangerous, I think it should be displayed in the open, but if your state allows it then go for it.
I'm pro gun it's just that we have a federal governement that doesn't see it my way. Hand guns in Canada have always been a restricted weapon, since the eary 30's, and no province that I know of allows hunting with a hand gun. I wish they would allow it. Long guns are not restricted.
Automic weapons are prohibitted.
As posted earlier lets not get into a gun debate, stick with the original post.
Im sure there are some holster manufactures out thier that could provide some thing to slip into the door pockets as they are very roomy.
