I just installed some new wheels & tires 305/55/20 BFG A/T on tight turns they rub on the leaf springs. anyone used spacer to fix this prob? I think a 1/2" spacer will correct the issue.
Wheel spacers are bad news my friend. You'll lose some threads for your lug nuts, not to mention that you have this piece of aluminum behind your wheel, which can become a liability.
I know everyone says spacers are bad, but has anyone actually ever used them and had a problem? as long as there is enough thread left what could go wrong?
The best option would be to get wheels with the correct offset. 0 to -12 offset would be best for that tire and year truck. Another option is to drill and tap the wheel turn bump stops and put a bolt in them to limit your wheel turn. What wheels are you using?
Never used wheel spacers myself. In the vid he mentioned the steel spacers vs the junk aluminum spacers. With a good quality steel hubcentric spacer I would say your good to go and tow up to the manufacturers recommended weights.
i have 07 wheels on my 99 and started with the regular non hub centric spacers and had bad vibs
bought the hub centric set and have had no problems now for about 20K mi
That's probably the best video I've seen from that guy. Some of them I have debatable technical information, but this is 100% and very very good advice.
