I recently transfered a dana 60 front axle from an 89 F350 to an 89 F250. The F350 was a dually so they installed 4 inch wheel spacers onto the front end to compensate for the duals in the rear. The F250 is not a dually so I need to remove the wheel spacers to make the front end match the rear. What is the easiest way to remove these spacers, and reinstall the stock eight lug spacer?
I don't know of any wheel spacers that would have come from dana spicer. you sure about this? Iirc, it's just a different rotor for the dually. If you had the dana 50 in the f250, the rotors should swap right over to the d60
There are definately wheel spacers on this axle, my tires are completley outside of the wheelwells with mild backspacing on my rims. I'm not sure, but I think the four inch spacers are held on with long lug studs. Removing the wheel spacers should be as easy as removing the lug studs and reinstalling the stock lugs. I have never removed the studs, so my question is how is this done on this Dana 60? Is it as simple as driving them out with a hammer, or do I need to remove the rotor and everything else first? I really don't want to take the whole thing apart, but I will if that is what's necessary to remove the spacer.
Builttough,
Did you ever get an answer to this post? I need to remove the wheel spacers from a 93 f350 dually front and I am curious to what you found?
