Looks like the census is coming. Anyone get theirs yet? Are you answering all the questions or just the counting of people (that is what the census is)questions? And why do I have to fill this out, they sent it to me so they already know where I am.
Just asking.
I got my letter today telling me mine is on the way!Im not gona fill it out,im gona make them come to my house and ask me question!Only because they need there job just like we do!Boy i wish i had a job!
I am not sending it in, they will come to my house
I will only answer the questions that I know are required to be answered....it is my duty to play the part, but my constitutional right to protect my family and my privacy
Aaaa geesh people... I got mine today and it only has a few questions. Name, if you own or rent, age, sex, race, etc. It doesn't ask what you make or if you're legal or anything like that. They just want to count how many people live in your house so they'll know how many people are in the US (which I'd like to know, as well), and where to distribute money, etc. And why not just send it in? Aren't they trying to save money by sending them instead of sending people out to do this? Just send them in, for Pete's sakes, and be a part of the solution instead of the problem. You don't even have to buy a stamp.
I think the problem is, in the past the census grew to about 4 pages (both sides) of non related crap they asked about. Many of the questions seemed very intrusive to me and in no way were needed for the census.
Then there was the note along with the census, stating the fines and jail time that "could" be given should you not fill out the census correctly or completely. If you're like me, you gave a hearty BULLCRAP and only filled out what was actually needed.
People remembered the last census and are ready to push back. There's no need for anyone to know how many toilets you have or if grandma who lives with you uses polydent.
I was a shipping/supply clerk for the 2000 census... Most of the people we hired were "enumerators" or people who did the field work - We also had a bunch of people working the phones and calling people - When I wasn't in the back stocking forms and "kits", I was helping out with some of the office duties - mainly shredding mountains of documents (maps used by the enumerators, mostly)...
We had all kinds of forms to be used... We even had a form to fill out in case someone wanted to file a claim due to mental illness...
The funniest thing I saw (and I still have a few of these that I kept) were the pencils the enumerators had to use - 2 2/4 hardness - I kid you not - 2 2/4 - stamped right on the pencil... Apparently, "special" pencils were needed to fill in those little circles on the forms... lol..
Seeing as how only the "short" Census form is being used in 2010 and there's no mention of fines/imprisonment/execution for not filling it out, what is causing people to get their BVDs in a knot over it?

It can't be answered in this forum, try the club, it is being discussed there.
If you want a video try"trouble with the 2010 census" with Michelle Bachmann
or "minnesota legislator refusing to fill out 2010 census"
or "mn legistator concerned about ACORN involvement in census"
that will give you an idea.

Rebo has done petty darned good job of pitching the club and I agree. Become a member and play in the club where you can speak of things that can't be mentioned here on this forum.
We got ours and it is the short one. No one has ever come by our place for a "count" since we moved here, though. Too "out of the way" for any counters. Kirby said his he and his family were visited by a Census taker back in 1970 while up on the Mine.
We were not counted in the 1980 census up there. Nor the last two times.
