My 67 240 manual choke is stumbling badly and is in need of a carb rebuild. The carb on the engine doesn't look like the Autolite Carbs 1101 and 1100 shown in the factory manual ( page 10-52-53).
My casting says "Autolite" with the main body cast as GR 3507 8. There is also a remanufactured by Holley tag reading 64-5164.
I see rebuild kits for Carter YF for my year but the gaskets don't seem like they would work. Why is everyone shouting "Carter" when the original carb was "Autolite"?
Can you guys ID the carb for a kit? Should I just buy a rebuilt carb for the original 67?

In 1970, Ford replaced all the Auto-Lite 1V's used on 1962/69 cars/trucks with carbs that do not match what they looked like in previous year shop manuals.
The carb kits, gaskets and some internal may not the same, it depends on what carb was used.
But, without the tag number, I dunno what carb you have. Does your truck have a M/T or an A/T? With or without a smog pump?
Carter carb parts will not work on Holley, Auto-Lite or Motorcraft carbs.
Hello all. I'm new to this game and am learning about my 65 F100 stepside retirement gift to myself. I have no tag on the carb. It is stamped autolite on the bbl on one side and
"68
3507
P"
on the other side. Any help you can give this rookie would be great. 3spd manual tran. Runs but parts and screws missing from carb. Thank u for your time.

Welcome to FTE
Is it a 240 or 300 I-6, or a 352 2V? / I asked a mod to move your post to the 1961/66 forum, since you don't have a 1967/72.
Cougerjouhn, those over the counter remanufactured carbs are a crap shoot. As a shop owner, I had to quit using them a long time ago because they were just junk. I had bought a Holley (Carter YF) reman once from a supplier who insisted it was as good as brand new. It wasn't. I'm sure I put way more work into getting it running right than Holley ever did into "remanufacturing" it. It would be worth scouting out a good original core, with tag, and having a reputable local shop rebuild it, if the Dennis Carpenter one doesn't pan out for you.
Thank you, Willow. This is a two-year-old post that has been resurrected.
I pulled the carb down and went to an upscale auto parts shop and found a guy at the counter who seemed conscious. All I wanted was a kit with the proper gasket and accel pump and I got that. I did the rebuild myself, old school.
NumberDummy,
I need your help identifying a proportioning valve/distribution block, I don't know how to private message you or I would have, but do you think you can check out the thread I posted today, you seem like the man with all the answers around here.
