Autolite 1V--Accelerator Pump cover bent
As some of you may recall I've been having trouble with my 65 F-100 240 (std 3 spd, manual choke, original oil bath breather). It starts right up, but after about a minute it dies.
I've spent a good amount of time and a little money too trying to figure this out. I've tried every suggestion this board has offered (thanks, but no luck so far).
I decided to rebuild the carb. It is all apart and preliminarily cleaned (still need to introduce it to my air compressor). It was a rebuilt Autolite 1101. The original tag is absent. I'm new to carb rebuilding, but it isn't particularly complex.
As I was disassembling the lower body, I pulled the accelerator pump off and the cover is noticibly warped. It looks like it was terribly over torqued. It will not sit right and I'm concerned what this will do.
I'm tempted to hammer it straight, but it being an aluminum casting, I'm worried about breaking it. It is cupped in both direction (top to bottom and side to side).
Thanks.

I've fixed warped pump covers and throttle bodies by sanding them down with wet/dry sandpaper. Place the sandpaper on top of a pane of glass, wet it with motor oil, and then sand the cover using a figure-8 motion. When you reinstall the cover, grab the screwdriver with just 2 fingers. You may need to sand the matching face of the carburetor, too.

But...it's only furnished with the entire carburetor. Not sold by itself.
