The directions are so simple that I don't know how I can be screwing it up. I'm not saying that I am not. I went out to the truck and tried again this morning, still no luck. I did notice in the paragraph preceding the steps to program new keys it says "Only SecuriLock keys can be used". Is that another term for the old PATS keys or have they come up with another type of chip in the key handle? The Ford parts clerk gave a key with the Ford logo on it but no push buttons. The new keys that came with the truck are impressive, they come with 4 buttons on them, one is for remote start.

If you spent that much money on a new truck, I would return to the selling dealer and let them sort it out. JMHO.
I have the only answer there is to buy the new key from a dealer...hence the reason I asked the question of someone who seems to have a few answers, maybe Stewart_H will be able to send me in the correct direction.
Chill? You don't want help? I got better things to do than try to help people that don't appreciate it. Stewart doesn't drive a Chevy. That's like asking Mc Donalds if Burger King puts catsup on their 1/4 pound burgers. Drive to Burger King.
