Seen the latest toiletodor ad? Some gal who works from them talking about how their tests show " no evidence of sudden acceleration " caused by the electro-magnetic system." I have three children & put them in it with no worries ". Must not care much for the kids. Saw something maybe a week ago ( probably on wahoo ) about the recall supposedly connecting a brake kill switch FAILED. Showed some guy driving along stomp on the brakes & nothing happened, kept right on going.
Hey Steve, how's life in Joisey? ( The other ) Pat did a pretty good job with his heat dance didn't he? Talked to some of the kinfolk back in Pa. last night, they said except for where that shtuff got piled up, it was pretty much gone. Lovely weather, no shtuff!!
hey pat,
my neighbor has a 09 camry and he has the sudden accelartion problem. its an ecm issue... i scanned his car and seen the ecm overrides it. the TPS senses throttle position.
the dealer has had his car for coming on 2 weeks and they still can't figure it out.

Funny - the wife's '09 Camry hasn't displayed the least bit of poor manners. It's electrical, but I'd bet money that it is connected with the loads of whiz-bang options you can get on cars these days. Ours is a pretty basic model and we've not had a lick of trouble with it.
In my opinion, this is no different than what Ford went through a few years back with the Explorer and Firestone tires. Toyota has just learned that when you want to play with the big boys, you better be prepared to take a kick to the crotch when you're not expecting it.

probly smashing on the clutch pedal instead of the brake

Camera guy was in the back seat & the reporter was in the other front seat with him. He was one of AT LEAST 10 people who were still having the problem even after being " fixed " by the dealer. The svc. mgr. was ( of course, he was on camera ) " very concerned & working with toiletodor to try to fix the problem ".
Still haven't heard anything else from Wally World. Guess I could try going to the store & talking to the manager, but I don't think it's really something he can fix. Seems to me like it needs to come from H.Q. We've got people from all over ( Joisey, Mo., & Neb. for starters ) looking for those FORD jammies. Since corporate H.Q. is in Ark., maybe we need somebody from there to go to H.Q. & raise a fuss. Remember looking ( again ) last time I was in & still none. They had a bunch of NASCAR ones.
