I was able to use the parking brake bolt today after all.
Put the torch to the nut and was able to get it loosened up.
Installed the passengerside parking brake cable and front brake cable.
Only to find out the drivers rear cable doesn't have enough spring left....so back to Auto Zone to get another.
Got the seat and carpeting back in after removing it last night and giving the cab and carpeting a good cleaning.
Took it for a test drive and thought I should go ahead and fill it up with gas. My buddy made a comment about whether or not the fuel selector worked. I was running on the front and switched to the rear. I said I'm now running on the rear tank, then switched back to the front and the motor died. Tried to start it but, it just cranked. Switched to the rear tank and it fired up.
Hadn't used the rear tank in three weeks so looks like I get to change all the fuel filters now. I was planning on changing upper/lower radiator hoses, thermostat housing and thermostat, high pressure power steering line but, just didn't get around to it. Looks like that's gonna be next week end. Unless it gets done sometime this week.
Spent last weekend installing new inner spindle bearings and wheel bearings, calipers, rotors, and pads. Already had new front soft brake lines, rear brake soft line, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, spring kits, drums four shocks, and master cylinder. While it was apart got everything all painted up.
77&79F250, let me know if you have any of the parts listed.
Thanks,
Brian
Ches did you watch Horse power today? They did a show on different carbs and such, including carb spacers. apparently they are good for a few horse power. The open port one is better than the 4 hole one.
Wait! Rich! See how much you JY charges for window regulators and motors from a 1986 F-150. Mine wants $135 for both sides and I dont want them that bad! If your's is a LOT cheaper, I might have you send them my way. I'll need a little of the wiring and the switches also because I'm kicking around installing them on my '77 as a modification.
You're probably not going to believe this, but here goes. You know those FORDjammies everybody's been looking for? Well guess what, I was in a different Wally World here & looked for them. Lo & behold, NO FORD JAMMIES!!! Can you believe that? Did talk to a gal in that dept. & she said they usually come in around Christmas. She said they usually order about 6 months ahead & were probably working on preparing the order now. Maybe our E-Mails will do some good then. Other Pat, did you ever get an answer to your E-Mail? Still wonder if maybe somebody in Ark. was to go to H.Q. & raise a fuss there what would happen.
Found the missing nut! Got the carb back on the 87, things seam better! NO leaks!
Could not use the carb spacer studs that came with it not long enough. After test drive I power braked it in the shop! LOUD! Left two marks does that mean pozie?
