good evening everyone,
just got home, had to go to re current training for my IA license! how fun 2 days of lectures, mostly FAA and mostly regulatory. it is bad enough that you just want some one to shoot you after the first couple hours.
was planning to stay all day today as they were raffling a ride in the steerman bi plane this afternoon. but than I didn't heare anything about it after the Mustang crashed when it left yesterday! (it was on static display at the symposium)
Bart, I think I did this the right way. But you can tell me if you disagree. I went & spent time with him then left. The Animal Control took him to the Vet in Fallon last night. Today I going down to rescue him from the Vets after those Officers did that to him. So I'm hoping to be seen as the hero in his eyes. The Animal Control Officers & I joked about this same thing yesterday.
Craig
that is the perfect way, in his mind you will be the hero.
another good thing to do is to take him to the vet often for a treat. most vets have the treat jar for this. that way it isn't always a bad time going to the vet.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. Sorry it's taken so long for me to get on here.
The good news is that my wife is still happy & healthy, and the baby is due in 2 weeks.
The bad news is that my company is furloughing 14 (of 38) pilots and 5 (of 18) flight attendants. 5 captains will also have to be downgraded to first officers (meaning paycut). Sometimes things happen in seniority order, sometimes they don't, so we're basically all on pins & needles right now, which SUCKS. Keep your fingers crossed that I can make it through this without any changes. I'll be praying for myself and for all of my coworkers who are soon to be unemployed.
All this really makes me want to find a new line of work. There has to be something more stable than aviation.
ahh aviation, just gotta love the mystery of not knowing if you have a job tomorrow or next week! when I got layed off I had just talked to program director and he said there is no way we will ever close that base! less than a month after that the base was closed! they closed it at 0800 on Friday, my supervisor called me at1830 and asked if I had heard that the base closed?
great news for the weekend!
I will keep you in my prayers Rob.
Good Evening Arizona.
Vici has an interview on April 5 Monday in Casa Grande, & April 6 Tuesday in Red Rock. Red Rock was real interested in Vici. She had sent a letter of interest & the Special Ed Director called her as soon as she got the letter & wanted to interview her. Vici's Spring Break is that week in April & we were hoping to use it to come to Arizona & do interviews. So we have two so far, so we will see. Both of us are excited about this.
I got my census paper delived to my door. Question 9 about race I'm checking some other race, MONKEY. on question 10 about staying someplace else I'm checking either JAIL or PRISON, maybe NURSING HOME. Then if they can't find me they can go check my other places I stay.
Doggone it Bart.....I'm so sorry to have missed you down there at Speedworld last Saturday. I looked around for you after I got eliminated, but it's kinda tough to find someone you've never met, particularly when there are so many people!!! That was a great turn out (I heard 8000 people) and a really fun day.
Bill: happy belated anniversary. 26 years is a long time and a great example.
Craig: sounds like you've done really well with the new pup, and sounds like you found each other at the perfect time. A healthy relationship for both!
Bart: I guess it's like they say: in aviation, you've either been furloughed, or you're going to be furloughed. If I'd gone to Frontier, Alaska, UPS, or jetBlue, I would have been furloughed by now. I have to be thankful that I've been able to stay employed this far. Hopefully I dodge the bullet again for now. Time will tell.
Have a great weekend. I'm sitting in Lubbock until I go home Monday or until some random college basketball team needs a ride home.
