Winch Bumper Build

So I've been bored last couple weeks with no progress on my truck while I wait for my 428 crankshaft for my new motor. I needed a project and what can I say I got inspied from the pics I've seen on here of some cool bumpers so I decided to go for it.
I started with a 8x4 3/16 plate because it will be strong but not be too heavy.
Easiest way to figure out what I wanted was to build first from cardboard and a glue gun. Crafting is cool!
Heres what I had in mind

Front will be sporting a warn 12000 and the rear is a wran 10000 with the rear liscence plate on a hinge. This is my current setup I run now on the rear and I really like it. You cant even see the winch unitl I flip up the plate which stays up with a magnet. All mounting brackets sit up nice and high and run off the crossmember with 1/2 plate and extra beef to the x member.

sorry about the crappy cell phone pics but if you notice it the top line actually follows under lights then dips down under grill.

Now as far as corners go I had 2 options

or

I decided to go with the simplier first one . It was more clean in the end. it was a little too wide when I make out of steel it will be a tighter fit with a radius corner to body.
I've started to build the top section tonite but it got dark and I call her quits. Backyard fab! I really need a good steel table to work off off and I hope to build one soon but for now the plate itself on the ground works great until it get chopped up too small..lol
I'll have it complete by tomorow and I'll post up more pics.

Wouldn't it be stronger if you made it out of steel.

Two different styles. If I had it to do over I wouldn't use 1/4" for the side bars, It's too heavy. The cell phone pictures look great.

I was way too hung over to get anything done yesterday!! Plus I ran out of oxygen for my torches. I'll be back at her tonite after work to get a couple hours in. I'll post up later if I make some progress..

Ok got some more done tonite. Pics are kinda crap it was almost dark. Im surprised its so bright as it is.

Im starting to like the look even more in steel form its starting to grow on me...
bumper is just hanging there on a couple tacks and the wind could probably blew it off at this point. still need to modify my brackets from old bumper to adapt to this one so it will be a easy swap and fit up. Thats what I'll tackle tomorow nite.
