Kieth Blacks KB149-030
I cannot believe i never found these before.
Domed 8cc
1.67" comp hieght, 30 overbore,
Will most likely buy a set but want to know if anyone else has thrown a set of them into a 400 before.
I crunched the numbers and should be 10.5 to 1
just wondering if the dome will work
And who makes the wrist pin bushings to fit 351c pistons on a 400 rod.
351c is 0.912" and 400 is 0.975"
cannot find them on summit racing
TMeyer Ford Catalog
Bushings will require a little more research, and contact to confirm the correct one, if needed:

Don't know if the pistons you list will work, but if they did, I would think the TMI catalog, which lists them, would mention being able to use them in the 400.
I've got a 78' F-350 that i had the 351m stroked to 400 and told them I needed low to mid range torque. They did whatever they did (1984) and what an improvement. I still drive it today (no winters) and love it. 129k actual miles and only 12k on the rebuild.

Good Luck
a set of 0.975" bushed rods, too for my 400.
Once installed they were 0.006" over the deck but had no clearance problems
with the 2V open chamber heads. Adds a little extra on the 10.5:1 cr.
What kind of cam are you running ? Maybe you have to use higher
octane fuel.
Engine is still on run-in, I´ve completed the build just before the winter started.

I am looking at a decent lifting cam. and have removed and plugged off my egr system. but will need good compression with the intake i am looking at getting. its a edlebrock streetmaster 400 single plane. I am going to port and polish the heads. mostly on the exhaust side but also to blend the bowl.
I will be running high octane aviation fuel. its just a mud bogger and will only race it about 7 or 8 times a year but the 400 is the motor to get me there.I really rev the crap out of the motor going in 2nd and low so i want more high end power. as long a she sticks together.the motor has the low end so i am not worried there. will probably put on a 3500 rpm stall to

My intension was a daily driver with lots of low end and mid range power.
I wanted to take advantage of the fact that 95 octane fuel is regular here
and choosed a 265deh cam, otherwise it would be to big.
When you use aviation fuel you can run a even bigger cam. Maybe you should go on 4V cleveland heads, they flow better at high end and meet
the single plane intake too.
The KB 2347 definately will give you the punch you are expecting....
