Unless the scanner needs to sync on startup with the OBDport, you can switch that bad matha jamma all day long.
Yes the scan gauge and the terminator guage are the same thing. Termy just has its owe face they have as an option.
As for the 12volt power. You guys are getting way too concerned about it! calm down! Chances are extremely slim you will need to do anything other than plug the OBD II cable in and mount the gauge. Even if you do have to wire power to it there are at least 10 key on power sources you can pull from and not have to think about your gauge ever again.
Like Tim said, switched source doesn't mean a toggle on your dash, just a key-on source.
The concern is if the gauge happens to draw too much power through the OBD2 while the truck is turned off (like kills your batts or something) THEN you need to pull the jumper, add the short harness that's included and run it to a key-on source.
Jim-if you read this and haven't sent mine out yet, hang onto it please. I will call tomorrow to combine shipping on a couple more items I need to get the 3 hole gage pillar and a pyrometer and boost gage.
What do you guys think Autometer? or Isspro? any others?
Jack, yours went out on Tuesday, but no worries, I'd have to drop ship the pod and gauges to you anyway.
Some have a negative opinion on the Glowshift. I have a set to go into my truck so I can't say first hand what they are like yet, but the pod and both gauges through Glowshift will probably cost less than a pyro from AM or Isspro.
