Take a look in the 292 engine forum here. Ask around. 312's came in thunderbirds with a 4bbl carb. I am sure some big sedans had them as well. You just gotta ask around and educate yourself about these engines. This FTE site is the best but not the only one.

312: 1956/57 Ford/Mercury Passenger Cars / 1958 Mercury Passenger Car, price leader Medalist's only.
312's were not installed in trucks.
The 312 was an option in 1956/57 Ford's and T-Bird's, so not all these cars had it.
1957 Ford's, T-Birds and Merc's offered three different 312's. One with a 4V, one with dual quads, one with a McCollough Supercharger.
Two variations of these two 1957 312 "HiPo" engines were sanctioned for use in NASCAR, and in NHRA drag racing.
Today, an original factory "F" Bird is worth well over 100 grand. F = VIN engine code for the Supercharged 312.

'58 292 rebuilt several years ago & has been sitting, though I've attempted to run it as often as I could. I've $1,700.00 invested it & it'll Prob be $250.00 or more for S&H.
