4x4 Dually

I've seen plenty of cab and chassis dual wheel dentsides, some have definitely been 4X4, but I believe a guy emailed me trying to sell a 78 or 79 with dual wheels and a real bed, and by real I mean like, bump out wheel wells, real trim, a bed that was made from the Ford factory to be a dually bed, like any newer truck would have.
I remember it was a 250 for sure, and may well have been a 4X4. I'll try to dig up the picture, but does anybody know if these did exist?

There is no listing for a dually 4wd in my 79 Light Truck Facts book that Ford put out. I don't think there ever was a dually 4x4 prior to 79 built, only a 2wd version as far as I know.
The F-350 wasn't introduced till 79, this has a 77-earlier grill shell. Can you get the VIN# for this or the other truck? That would definetly clear things up. I'm guessing that both of these are home brewed.
79 and earlier the only way that a dually was available was in a cab and chassis model. No dually beds were ever made for this era from Ford.

There were no dually dentside 4x4 cab and chassis built by the factory. There were some aftermarket companys that did conversions but they were very expensive. Napco built a few and Marmon-Harrigton built several. There was a company that built add-on dually fenders for dentside styleside beds for a short time. They looked simular to early Dodge dually fenders. You see a pair for sale once and a while on Evil-bay.
