yeah to be honest... we have no clue what it is... we think its a old dirt bike ramp and yes... the dumb a$$es cut a hole about 1" tall by 3" long on each side -,-
On trucks of this vintage, the odometer reads to 99,999.9....then returns to ZERO.
So...it could have 139,951, 239,951, 339,951 miles...or who knows?
IMO, considering its condition (examples: look at the steering wheel, brake/clutch pedals, and what remains of the paint), this truck has well over 100,000 miles.
Used car dealers were in-famous for rolling odometers back for decades.
So...unless you know the truck's history from day one, who knows what the actual miles are?
1965: The 352 engine is supposed to be painted black with gold valve covers.
1966 was the first year FoMoCo painted engines...including the valve covers...Ford Corporate Blue.
yes.... it does really only have 40k miles on it... on the frame there is still black paint, and yeah we just painted the motor blue because we had it laying around.. oh and the truck is orginally from NV. we knew the original owner of the truck. he let it sit out side his shop for about 20 some odd years
From the last picture you posted the hard brake line (on the right side) is leaking where the clip holds it in place i would address that right away! and if it were me, I would get rid of the tire rack under it... for sure it will get hung up on something first time you go out 4 wheelin
You have a rig that is basically a nice classic, I would continue getting it back into nice condition and use it for what ever you need a pickup for, and get something else to wheel with. parts for these rigs will be getting rarer and rarer in the years to come, and you have one you can be proud to on for years to come.
I've got one that's rusted like that... It has part of the frame missing between the cab and bed. I've seen a few others like that too, you might want to check it out before flexing it much. It's a cool old rig....
Nice truck...its not a Custom Cab though...Custom Cab 4WD had a unique horn blow ring which went out over the spokes like the 2WD/Falcon/Comet steering wheels do.
I have some other questions but would need to see more pics of it..if you can, take more pics of the inside...doors and set/headliner stuff as well as front and rear shots. Are there any remains in the fender inserts??? it should say Four Wheel Drive.
On the L door rear latch face the Warranty Plate is...or should be affixed to the door with 2 rivets. Take a good, tight shot of this and I or others on here can decode it.
