I dunno if a regular 351w block can overbore enough to make a 427w engine. I think that stroker kit is aimed at aftermarket blocks.
418 is about as big as you can go.....

351w blocks can be bored up to .080 in some cases. A 427 stroker kit uses a .040 overbore piston to get a true 427 stroker. A .030 overbore with the 4.17 crank is a 425 cubic inch small block.

you got that right.. but i still want to do a 428 CJ i just bought the book How to Build max-performance ford FE engines by berry rabotnic, i don't know what block to look for or what really makes a CJ for that matter.
