I should've known that giving a partial answer would lead to more confusion than giving no answer at all ...but I thought the OP deserved to get the word about the adverse consequences before rather than after he installed single-shots!
As I've already said I'll be giving a more complete answer here... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...tock-7-3l.html ...but only after I've done the background posts leading up to the several I'll be giving on injectors!
That still doesn't answer my question, partial explanation or not.
Just a general question, how come you are just finding this information now? Single shots have been around for a LONG time, don't you think someone would have stumbled across all this great information before now? I guess I need to quit letting logic get in my way of thinking.

Please remember this is my hobby to relax in my old age ...not my job!

It's not quite that simple ...I haven't been withholding anything ...about 6 months ago I bought 5 text books ...3 on engines ...1 on thermodynamics ...and 1 on fluid dynamics ...and I worked for a month understanding how a turbo works ...but no one seemed to care when I posted my results!
Then I moved on to the diesel books ...and I just recently got interested in engine wear ...but there's no text book statement that says "explicitly" that single-shots cause more wear than you get with split-shots ...I had to "connect the dots" ...in fact quite a few of them to reach that conclusion ...and I'm still analyzing the area of wear ...and you can check my latest picture post on the 203* stat thread for some more inputs ...I got sucker-punched by being challenged to a "steel-cage" match and wound up missing my dinner!

This is the first post that I have read from you that you seem down to earth, LOL. Thank you for your input on topics, just know that most of us aren't number guys like you. I don't usually pick up a thermodynamics book as light after dinner reading
