I just can't bring myself to doing "stupid". lol The idea behind it makes some sense, but I can bring myself to cut a perfectly good hood for a little gain.

I hope I didn't come off as a d1ck. I just see it from the performance side of things as a huge waste of money. If you want a unique ride then that would be cool.. but I would think a delete pipe would look much more unique than the IC idea.

No prob, I just remember the post title asking if anyone knew of the website, not their opinion on the intercooler.

jkidd, thanks for the info on the water injection. I never pull anything except chevys and dodges out of the ditch so I am not too worried about egt's but I will keep those mods in mind for future situations.

I dunno, guys. It makes NO sense that his EGTs DROPPED when he deleted the IC. That's what I meant in that thread by something not adding up. I can understand it might go down with the water/meth injection, but not by itself. If that were the case, why would we ever run an IC in the first place??

Less restriction on the system. Look at the difference in restriction between the 7.3 and 6.0 IC.. I could believe it.

The IC is built for load situations. I would venture a guess that running around town you don't need the IC.

just my opinion

Probably would have been better off if you didn't know the website. Read carefully, it's chocked full of lies.

Also why is your intercooler located in front of your Radiator... So you dont pick up residual heat from it then thru the intercooler. If you placed that on top of your hood air would come in the grill pick up all the engine heat the take it up thru the intercooler....

Yeah I was looking at that website when I first got my truck and didn't know ANYTHING about my truck. Now that I was reading through the article is seems a little silly. I still like the look but maybe I will stick with the Methane Kit. I was looking at getting the AIS Stage Two. How come they have such big IC pipes? Wouldn't you get quicker response with like 2" IC pipes? I mean a lot les surface area to pump full of air?? just asking because i am OBVIOUSLY not a pro on the intercooler system. What is the deal with the intercoolers on top of the motor? How do they get cold air? Air dams through the hood?

The point is for the intercooler to suck air from the outside end of the hood and shorter IC pipes for Cooler air temps and better throttle response. Look at my post before this one, wondering about the under hood (on top of the motor) I can see your idea behind that...no cool air getting to the IC
