water separator drain plug

hello eveyone i just tried to drain the water for the first time in my 2005 2wd 6.0 diesel and notice the plug was strip i found the replacement plug online thanks to the tech folder

. i was just wondering if any one had this problem and can tell me the best way to remove the strip plug.

Some people are using a hex wrench and jb weld to glue it on to get it out of there.

Had the same problem. The bolt is probably not stripped , but has corroded from the inside missing up the threads on the bolt not the threads on the manifold. I unbolted the four bolts on the manifold and pushed it out from the inside. Go to Ford and order the new bolt which is brass and is a blue diamond part #.

try this once you get it out....

HFCM Drain Plug

lots of info through the search feature here on how to get a stuck plug out ie JB weld, screw extractor slot the plug...

thanks superdutyintendent i saw those went to the part store looks like i will have to order it online. utjer i would have never thought of that thanks.

I bleave you can get it at the international dealer, if you have one near you. I dont know the part number though.

no i eant to wait till i get the replacement part to remove it to scared to leave it open to the elements dont need any new problem thanks for all the help.
