timing bracket missing!

Where does the timing bracket connect to? The garage said they could not time the engine, because the bracket is missing. Do you time the engine from the passange side of the engine?

Thanks guys

Thanks! I found it, it's loaded with oil and dirt. On the piture you provided are there lines on the pointer, to time the engine?

The timing marks are on the balencer , clean it off good & highlight them so you can see them , don't forget to remove the spout ...Lew

Everyone has their own tricks for making the timing marks stand out on the balancer. I've found that after a couple of passes with fine sandpaper it helps a lot to rub anti-seize on the marks and then lightly wipe it off with a rag. The silver stays in the grooves of the marks and really lights up in the timing strobe.
