Hi Everyone! I have not been on the forums for a long long time but wanted to share this EOT problem I had. I went on a trip to Marysvale Utah a few weeks ago and got a check engine light. I happen to have my an old power tun e programmer with me I carried to clear and read codes and I had a "P0197 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor signal voltage is low" code. I figured I would change the EOT sensor and I did however this did NOT fix my problem. My 2002 7.3 would feel like it was almost missing on a cylinder and idled really rough. After waiting for the weekend I tore into it Sunday night and used a mirror to look around the wiring. I was looking under the driver side intercooler tube and noticed my 42 way engine harness connector on that passes over the drivers side valve cover through a bracket had broken away from the bracket and was laying on the bracket. when I lifted the harness off of the bracket I could see the green/brown wire that goes to the EOT sensor was barely chaffed through the insulation. I just wanted to post this so others do not go chasing there tail trying to isolate electrical problems like I did for a few days. I am sure this harness could wreak havoc on other systems of the truck as well so beware and take the time to remove the inter cooler tube, intake tubing and beef up this part of the wiring harness as I ended up doing. A lot of us have a hard time parting with our 7.3's so this should help prevent any future issues for some.
