I have been considering adding an exhaust to my truck to lower my EGT's while pulling my TT. I have no plans of running high horsepower tunes. I do plan on doing a cooler / egr delete when I run into problems in the future. I found a brand new Magnaflow catback 4" system, new in box for $300. Would this system drop my EGT much? Once again this is an all stock setup. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Seems like a good price.
I have this exhaust. While I don't have a pyrometer, I tow 14,000 lbs up long mountain passes in 110 degree weather with no overheating issues. People with pyrometers report 100-150 degree egt reduction with a catback system.
i just picked up a MBRP full turbo back exhaust from thoroughbred diesal for $350 w/ free shipping.but i dont pretend to b a genius and i think the magnaflow for $300 u found is cheaper than the $350 i paid

$50 more for a much better downpipe is well worth it IMO.
I have been wanting to upgrade my exhaust system also. Do the turbo back systems keep the cat on them? Here in UT I need it to pass emmisions. Or should I just get the cat back system?
Thanks for all the info guys. I think I will wait and just order a turbo back exhaust with a cat delete as I have no state testing here. I am most concerned about getting my EGT's lower, and from the comments it looks like a turbo back would do a better job at that.
