The safety certification lable is covered in a protective coating.
It being worn off is not plausable. Wanna bet?
The inside of the "B" pillar does not get much wear and tear does it?
Now It being removed, with the void marks showing, or rubbed out is more plausable... ...and suspicious.

How many of these labels have you actually looked at?
Over time, the outer plastic coating or the whole glued-on label can peel off. This can be caused by humidity and/or copious amounts of water (ever been along the TX gulf coast?).
Sometimes...when the coating itself peels off, it takes what is printed beneath along with it.
I've seen these labels where the outer clear plastic coating had peeled off...that were so faded, you couldn't read them with a microscope.

That is true, being in california, I don't see much humidity like in the southern states. 90 deg heat, 100% humidity, sun baking your brains while the windshield wipers on so you can see the road.
