Special ordering vehicles was no unique thing. The guy is trying to sell snake oil.
All the options he listed as unique were VERY comon options.
95% original is also a fib. It doesn't have the correct chrome for the outside, and Lariats came with carpet, not mats as standard. The rear slider is also wrong, unless the dealer had one of the 1973-1981 kits left on their shelf. Not uncomon for a 1982 though.

buyer beware...
Will have to let you know that we built Lariats with the rubber mat and also without Leather when it was available (99-04) I had to call my supervisor and told him the truck had wrong interior, but was informed that the customer could delete the option and get cloth but was not given a price break because of it. I have been with Oakville assembly plant for 27 years.
Don't use the FTE vin decoder, go to https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp for a more accurate Ford Vin Decoder.
I just think this guy is trying to pass a decent looking truck off as something ultra rare. I might email him and ask what makes his truck different than any other Ford of this generation.

my dad used to work at that plant from 81 to 85/86.
Well according to his reply.... his main selling point as being different than any other truck out there, is the 6.6 engine......and the clock and date above the radio.
He did find the FTE vin decoder, which, if he had used, he would have never recommended to me.
Extras on this truck are not found on most trucks this year.. Truck also has clock and
date over the radio.
He didn't state the 'extras' though.
I'll e-mail him again, asking what the extras are...which I did ask in my first email.....(he is too caught up on that engine)
Not to offend any younguns, He is probably 18 or 19. I remember when I was that age that things that weren't worth much to anyone else seemed worth a lot to me.
In the email he said he had been looking for a truck similar to this one for 7 years, so he's a bit older than 18 or 19.
If you find another truck like this one please let me know. Even the tall boys are only F - 250s remember this is a one ton F-350 single wheel even the bed is stamped heavy duty.
Like I say if you find another one like this please let me know because I never have
I've look for about 7 years
(use some logic, and it explains itself as he's had it for at least 7 years)
I can't use logic to read that crap. He makes no sense! Do you have kids? They lie about ***** to make it sound better than it is. I have 5 kids and 2 that are 20 and 23. Why would he look for a truck just like his when he has one. I have an 03 dmax/ally & I dont look for one just like it just for the heck of it. I guess theres no point to my post other than I think he's young & dumb & ........ um, well you know.
Hell no I don't have kids! Thank god I don't haha!
I should email him back asking his age, He seems too damn focused on the size of the engine than anything else...
I want to know what these 'extras' are!!
Here is the full e-mail by the way...
jmeyer,
OK first find another truck like this one, you,ll find tall boys but you'll not find
this model. The vin number doesn't show this tuck with all the extras.
The engine is 6.6L but is a what they call a 401-477 cu. in this engine only appeared
in medium and heavy-duty trucks of the time and were large, heavy, low speed, high torque.
This engine were never designed as automobile engines were commonly found in large, industrial use
vehicles including dump trucks, garbage trucks ,cement trucks, buses. The engine has high volume
water and oil pump.
Any one that has towed with this truck has always said they never seen a stock truck with
this much pulling power.

Remember Lone Star Ford special ordered as demo.
Yeah reading that sounds like he could be older but hard to say either way. I still dont see how that motor is some marvel of engineering. Its the only 400 made then & only for 81/82. That dont mean that ford doesnt have any 80 or 83 models running around with it in them. To be honest I really dont care cause I'm not gonna buy it. LOL
