That's the correct placement alright. Mine screws into the bracket and has a single wire running to it, but it's an 80. No vacuum line .

I wish I could, but if I had fresh batteries for my $6 camera, the fact it has no zoom or focus on it would prolly make what I posted useless. It looks just like the one in the Autozone link and it screws into a threaded bracket.

I agree, sounds more like a choke pulloff diaphram.
My truck has both a mechanical dashpot (no vacuum nipple), and a choke pulloff diaphram (has vacuum nipple), and they look VERY simular, but do completely different jobs.
