85 A Pillar pod
I want to put an A Pillar pod on my 85 F350. I know they don't make one for it but I feel like I can make one work for an 92-96 truck. How can I do this? The cabs are the same so it ought to work. Do I get the A pillar trim from a 92-96 truck to make it work along with the piece that go's over the door?

I believe I saw a picture where someone installed the pillar pod on a 80-86. They took the later model pillar pod they bought, and cut the bottom and the top off. They then took the 80-86 trim and cut holes in the middle to run the wires, and then installed the pillar pod over the 80-86 trim. It looked ok to me. There was just a little step top and bottom where the pillar pod stopped and the 80-86 trim piece started. I think they glued them together.

It's cheaper and just as easy to walk into an Autozone or O'reilly's and buy the generic 2 or 3 pod cluster they sell on the shelf for $25. I put one in my truck and had it fitted in about 30 minutes, fiberglassed it, and sprayed it to match the interior using off the shelf dark red interior paint.
I've had people ask where i was able to find a pre-made 80-86 pillar pod and others ask whether it was a factory option.
