Just a small update. Added an after market mechanical temperature gauge as the stock gauge was dieing. Was cheap and its only temporary, ignore the placement of it.
Also started cleaning up the vacuum lines and replacing broke ones. You can also see where I put the temperature gauge. I use a small amount of liquid gasket sealer to avoid any potential leaks.
haha well I will mount it, I sorta just hung it up there for the picture haha. Quick question what is a normal running temperature for a carbed 351w? I've got a 180 degree thermostat and I was guessing somewhere around that?
Where do you plan on permanently mounting it? I got me some 87-91 a pillar trim and now I'm ordering a 87-91 dual gauge pod to mount in my truck after I finish painting all the interior pieces. It is nice to get actual numbers and really know how hot/cool your engine is isn't it?

Thats funny I never thought of swapping the 87-91 pillar trim. Always wanted the guage pods just never wanted the uneven trim. How do they look in our gen trucks?
I had a set of 8th gen Bronco A Pillars in my truck before. They fit okay, but I had to drill some new holes to get them to fit.If I recall correctly I also had to trim the ends where they sit under the upper windshield molding. And then there's also the deal with the B-Pillar moldings fitting over/under them too. When I had mine in the F100,I didn't have the B-Pillar moldings yet,so I don't know exactly how they fit with the rear trim.I'll see if I can dig up some pics.
JGreen,that garage looks familiar,but I can't quite remember where i've seen it.
I only found one pic,and it doesn't show them too well, but it's an idea. You can see on the driver side where the molding hung down.I think that's only because of the lack of B-Pillar trim.Mind the duct tape,P.O thought it would stop the rust.
If you do a search there is a guy on here that did the side pillar gauge and it looked great. I want to say he bondo-d it in. It looked really really good. I know I am going to do that with mine when I get mine done.

Can't disagree with the post above about modifications required as I haven't personally done it yet, but from my searches/reading on here it sounds like the most you have to do is drill some holes. When I held them up against the A pillars in my truck, I didn't see any difference in the size, just a different contour. Mine has a bevel/angle to it but these are more rounded. I saw a post here where someone mounted an 87-91 gauge pod to his existing 80-86 trim and the only thing wrong with it was there were gaps around the beveled a pillar and the rounded pod.
Anyway, stay tuned on my restoration thread because when I get back in town after the 4th of July I'll be installing my pieces and I'll find out for sure what is needed to do it.
The Palomino isn't an exact color match but it doesnt stand out to bad and looks quite good in the end. I've read you found the exact mix in SEM for our interiors let me know how good that looks and i'll probably redo mine!
I got my SEM 2705 Fawn paint in and I've painted a few pieces and let me tell you it is an EXACT match! I expected and was going to be happy with it being a shade off even, but it is perfect. I'm extremely pleased thus far. If you want something exact and not just close for our fawn color then SEM 2705 is what you want to get mixed up.

Very glad to hear it! Those SEM fella's are the real deal. At first i had a hard time dropping that kind of money on a can of spray paint, but its well worth it!
