It's been a while. So, i really don't have any complaints about my 07 F150. I love it and it does everything i need it to.
Recently i've been having a little problem with the heater. i have to keep it all the way up on the temp dial for it to be hot at all. if you turn it to like a warm setting it gets cold right a way then you have to turn it all the way to the hottest setting to get hot air again. It also makes like a moan noise when you adjust the setting from your feet to the defroster exc. Not sure whats going on there but it's cold as heck outside and i'd like to figure this out...
That would be the blend door going to hell. Had mine replaced on my o6, made the same moan noise you say (almost sounds like sand in the gears) When switching to a different vent location and sometimes it did not change the position at all. It got to the point were it would be on the feet and it would all be coming out the defrost vents.
There is a TSB on this…..also FYI the whole dash needs to come too.....I just made it in just before my 3/36 Warranty was up
so, the blend door is the problem with the temp setting also??? i have to have it all the way up to get heat then you get blasted. if you turn it down a little it gets cold then.
You need a new actuator for the temp control. There's a tsb for the actuator "hunting" for it's correct position when attempting to change the heat/cool setting. The concern that you need to remove the dash for is the inability to change the floor/vent/def settings.....
