stock 5.0 roller cam
One of my friends installed a set of 1.7 aluminum roller rockers onto his 1990 HO Mustang, and a set of 1.5" headers and 2.5" cat-back exhaust system, and managed to get about 200 rwhp on a Dyno-Jet (stock was like 170 rwhp). So we estimate that he probably got 250 fwhp with that combination (losing 20% through the manual drive train). So I think 280hp with the truck cam seems a little optimistic.
Manual drivetrain losses are more like 15%, and the HO intake is a bit restrictive compared to the 5.0 truck intake. There are all kinds of stock 5.0 dyno numbers floating around the web including this one... 400 HP 302 ci AFR 165 cc(Stock Cam)
With a stang cam, in a truck with stock heads, advancing it 2 to 4 degrees will move the torque curve a little lower in the RPM range which will help when it's installed in a heavier vehicle.
When going from flat tapped to roller, I'd be good to upgrade the valve springs and you'll need to change the distributor gear to a steel piece.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about stock truck intakes, cam, and E7 heads. You're right though, the stock truck intake on the stock HO engine could be worth another 20-30 hp. Add that to the 1.7 rockers, headers, and cat-back, I can see 280 hp.
Of course, many of the newly available aluminum heads with bigger valves and better designed ports and chambers can have much higher power potential. But I thought the question was about stock heads, cam, and intake.
We were assuming 20% drivetrain loss, but if it's actually 15%, we'll take it.

ok lm sorry if ive miss led anyone about my topic ,1st i never said anything about a truck this engine is a 5.0 ho its going in a 70 maverick. ok i was curious how much power u might get by keeping the stock HO cam but evrything else goes ,like different heads ,intake, headers and such but with keeping the stock cam

It's all good, just trying to jerk yer string a bit.... I think you'll find we generally have thicker skins than most other forums, and are a little looser in our detrimental replies. In other words- not so serious as to be taken literally in matters not mechanically specific, but we don't mind joshing around a bit otherwise.
When it comes to misinformation that is technically wrong, I lose all sense of humor, because the outcome has consequences potentially ranging from detrimental to devastating, and that is counter to what I'm here for, but also most likely everybody else.

everything is cool ,i can see where i misled some of you. i have a old 58 f-100 and thats why im in the truck forum but i also have a old maverick i tinker with as well and the smallblock forum here looked like a good place to jump into
Other than that, your instincts are good as this is the best site to get information about anything Ford, and especially truck related. We have a small core of traitors that frequent other Ford sites, particularly Mustang sites, but we are an understanding and forgiving bunch. As a matter of fact there is a small percentage of Chebbie guys that have visited this forum and lived, you can't get any more condescending than that can you?
