If someone could give me some direction on how to get the sterring column out I would appreciate it. I know the steering box and column are one, and from first look it appears the enigine needs to come out for the box shaft to clear the frame.
Thanks, I'm not familiar with the room the flatty takes up, but I would think there is room to manuever it without pulling the engine. There are a lot of flatty guy's that I'm sure can direct you better than me, especially beings mine is a 58. Good Luck and Happy New Year.
What truck, what engine? Need more info on what you are working one.
It might be this one that is on his signiture:

How was your night last night, "V"....LOL!
You have to take the steering wheel off, un bolt it, remove the floor plates and pull it up through the cab. It's a VERY tight fit inside the cab too!
you can take the streeing wheel off unbolt the column from the dash and lift the body over the column.....or cut it off if your not going back to stock
Stock exhaust manifolds - you can make it. If headers, you'll have to remove the one header for the box to clear. Might be easier even with stock manifold ....
