Yeah, but more importantly I said I did it that way because I was too lazy to do it how you did yours!Seriously, alot of machinery I have run has CCV vent to atmosphere, well, the older stuff anyway. I'm sure the Tier 3 stuff which is the newest emission standards for heavy equiptment has it doing something other than vent to atmosphere. Probably back into the intake, but not sure.
When using the 1" hose...will regular heater hose work? Or should I be looking at some sort of Hi temp exhaust hose?
The issue is the hose should not be kinked or have a dead J leg where water and oil vapors can accumulate and block it.
Heater hose will work, so will any other hose that does not collapse easily and can withstand extremes of heat and cold a part on the outside of a truck is normally subject to.
My only reservation with the 1" hose out the back of the truck is that it might get plugged with ice / frozen crud, or from mud / water if the truck is used to ford streams.
