Question DASH CUP HOLDER

Ok, what is the deal with the removal process. I unbolted the two from the front, but I cant seem to pull the entire unit out.

Is the metal piece bolted somewhere else or is there a spot where I have to semi force it out?

This is for my F-650 install project.

Thanks,

Al

You have to remove the plastic bag holder first, then you can access two more bolts from the bottom to remove the cup holder.

Is that what that funny hook is for?

The funny hook is a trash back holder hook. The panel opening that it covers was originally a ashtray in the 2000 years. The cupholder did not have a ashtray.

Very soon after production, the new cupholderr with ashtray was added, and the lower ashtray was deleted and replaced with the 'hook'.

I have retrofitted the original ashrtray into my Ex. just to get rid of that ugly hook.

So there are actually 4 screws that hold the ashtry in. two on the front as you pull it out, and two underneath after removal of the hook.

Yes, that is correct. 4 screws to remove and those two bottom screws are not the easiest to thread back on, took me a few extra minutes for a task that you would assume to be extremely easy.

I found an original ash tray on Ebay the exact color I needed. I like it better than the hook too.

Thanks, I had no clue what that stupid looking thing (hook) was. I learn something new on here all the time.

To each his own, but we use the hook all the time

Hanging purses, plastic bags, etc....

really helps to keep the "emergency quart of milk until she goes to the grocery store" from sliding around !
