He's sorta right and sorta not. This is why I tend to encourage stand alone systems with powerstrokes. You have in block bypass valves (note none in filter) just like the Cummins so the filter itself (hoses to and from) aren't vital to vital flow.
So, what your saying is the PSD is setup for a Bypass system outa the factory?
With what your picture posts. I dont remember seeing any of that stuff under my truck though.
You should help me put it in then tim.
we can use the lift at your shop after hours. =)
You still gotta check out my truck as it is.
Though, i should put the new clutch on first before I bring it to you.
Just what i need. "lets see what she can do! Oh, wow, she redlines really well when you press the gas."

All the hoses aren't under your truck but the ports are there with plugs in them. BTW I got your message. But all I heard was ...lsjhfuaswehuf................lkajhuw........... .................................................. ............................................shfuas fh...............................
I was out hunting when you called. Last day for the late doe season and I haven't seen a deer in two weeks.
out hunting!? how the heck could you be doing that, you posted on here, and I called you before you would have even had time to get your clothes on!
I posted then scrambled! You may have called in the 3 minutes I was getting dressed or the 2 minute drive to the hunting grounds but my phone was on Vib. Don't want someone to go scaring the deer away. Too bad there are no deer left in the entire county to scare away! And I only got to shoot 3 of them.
haha. you are lucky to get 3 tim, most have got none.
Okay, so whats the big diff between the double and the single bypass?
BMK22 and BMK21.
At least the dual guard is only in the 180 range, half the price of the bmk26 you talked me out of.
The two you list either is fine but the single is really all that is needed. Before you buy it let me do a little research on the filter head I have. There is nothing special about Amsoils head other than its billet aluminum. I will look at mine and let you know what thread the filter is and what size the restriction is. You can make a filter head for their filters for about $50.
What size ports are they and what kinda pressure are we talking here? Summit has a ton of kits that are remote style but all you'd have to do is ditch the adapter and just use the filter mount and hoses.....
YoSlick.
Not trying to just get a cheep bypass system in.
With the dual head ams oil kit i'm increasing my oil capacity by 4 qt's.
Were going for Long OCI's, so I figure with extra oil in there, that will help with some cooling, as well as help with longevity.
Tim says he hasn't seen much improvement with bypass kits, but I think he's runing dino with it.
Soon as the oil thins out, our trucks run pretty rough. I duno about the skinny with running AMSoil though.
I'ma call up Ron86toy and see what he was getting with his truck. He only runs AMSoil.
As for the dual remote kit, its 171 from AMS. Probably cheeper with the discount you can get.
Well within my budget now, which leaves rooms for EURO HEADLIGHTS!!!!!!!~!
Tim sugested the single on the phone from something like napa.
I figure I'll just buy a system and have no hastles.
I honestly hate mixing and matching parts to make something work. I dont have much luck with that stuff, even if somebody else picks the parts out for me.
I hear what your saying, just trying to save us all some money if it's the same thing.... Been running the Rotella 5-40 synthetic this winter and I'd love to get more than 3k before it goes in the salamander at work. With the new GP's, relay, DB hi torque starter and the Rotella, it's starting better than ever, fact it was -15 yesterday morning and like a bone head I forgot to plug it in and had our Family get together to go to, did a 90 second GP and she popped right off, was sure we were gonna have to take my son's Ranger instead.....
