alright i'm coming down with a BAD case of PMS and my truck has worn out axle pivot bushing and spring bushing and i'm the type who can't never put nothing back to "stock" so i been looking at lift kits and i want new leafs in the front and rear and either a 4'' or a 6'' and no blocks just wondering if you guys knew a "cheaper way to do this. and i can't seem to tell if any of the kits that come with the drop brackets for the axle pivot brackets come with the bushings in them or it is just a drop bracket you bolt the old bracket to any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Skyjacker will probably be the best kit for front and rear springs. Most lifts do not come with pivot bracket bushings, but can be picked up at o'reily for $20. The pivot brackets will replace your old ones. it will come with new spring bushings
i been looking at the bronco graveyard site and they got a superlift kit for about $1500 to my door with new springs and shocks all the way around. every other place i look the kits are around $2000. anyone know a cheaper place to order kits??
also i was looking at the stock leaf springs and noticed they got some extra heavy duty ones if i was to bolt those on my truck would it lift it any higher than stock ride height or just make it ride more like a log truck???
I doubt you'd get any height out of a stock heavy duty replacement. It probably just gives more payload capacity and like you said will ride foe like an old horse and buggie
I had the heavier springs from broncho graveyard---rode like crap and no additional height. I went with the skyjacker lift--4"--ride better but I will be pulling it off in the near future to go with a 5" RSK and SD "V" codes on the front. I will probably keep the skyjacker springs in the rear though.
1400 bucks? ride at your own risk, those axle pivot brackets are junk. call skyjacker and price out their kits, i cant see it being much more then that price and the heavy duty drop brakcet is a must
you will have to call them to get a quote, they redid their site and they dont have all the pics up of th ekit components but it looks like its between 1400 and 2000 for a complete kit, just ask for a quote with the heavy duty one peice drop bracket.
I havent posted on this site for quite a while, but I cant resist this one. Take the money you are going to **** away on a junk lift kit and pick up a dana 60.You are going to have all that 50 junk out of the way and you will be much happier in the long run while you are in there do a shackle flip on the front and rear.Been there done that.
